Content Strategy Forum 2013

September 11, 2013 - September 13, 2013

content strategy forum helsinkiThe past four years have been big for Content Strategy. Like information architecture, and user experience before it, content strategy has found itself in the spotlight. More and more job postings are seeking content strategists and non-practitioners are starting to ask for it in their projects.

There are no shortages of points of view, books, conferences and self-proclaimed experts coming out of the woodwork, but one of the mainstays of the content strategy universe (outside of IA and UX conferences) has been the annual “Content Strategy Forum,” which is entering its fourth year.Finland on map

This year’s event, held in Helsinki, Finland, will see both familiar faces and some new players sharing their views structured content, governance, information architecture and the value of content on business. The conference takes place Sept. 12-13 with a day of workshops on Sept. 11.

It’s a decidedly tactics focused conference this year (outside of the workshops), and there will be some new voices in the field from companies like Air BnB (Aja Guldhammer), Nokia (Tuomas Manninen) and GE (Katrina Craigwell).

Dan Eizans be speaking in the “IA, UX, Technology” track on Friday the 13th. And while he won’t focus on the tactics of content strategy, he will share his views on what he sees as a major problem: content strategy’s drift from its roots in IA.

There is a dedicated live stream for the event at http://livestream.csforum2013.com. Please feel free to leave Dan comments if you have any questions or perspectives you’d like him to address.
