Summary: Andrew Hinton's reflects on his ongoing journey toward figuring out what it is we architect when we do information architecture.

I had the great pleasure of presenting this new talk at the Information Architecture Summit in San Diego last week. It’s based on some ideas that I’ve been working on for a few years now. Particularly, see this post with the same name from last year.

At times, it’s been hard for information architecture practitioners to articulate what it is they do—and I think that part of the challenge is that the material we use is so hard to pin down. This talk is part of my ongoing journey toward figuring out what it is we architect when we do information architecture.

It may sound philosophical (and yeah, it kind of is!) but it’s also immensely practical. Hopefully after reading through, you’ll know what I mean.
